The Rolex Oyster Perpetual "Bubbleback”, ref. 2940, features a gold-plated case measuring 31 mm in diameter, 39 mm from lug to lug and 13.5 mm in thickness. Its construction includes drilled lugs, a smooth gold-toned bezel and a domed caseback with a knurled edge. A domed Plexiglas crystal covers the dial.
The silver-coloured sunburst dial features applied gold-toned baton hour markers, a Rolex coronet at 12 o’clock and a peripheral minute track. It displays hours, minutes and central seconds, without a date window. The dial bears the inscriptions “ROLEX”, “OYSTER-PERPETUAL” and “OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED CHRONOMETER”.
The watch has automatic winding and is fitted with a cognac-brown strap featuring a scale-patterned texture and contrasting stitching, secured by a gold pin buckle.
Visible wear includes superficial scratches on the case and bezel, with localised dark areas along the case edges and lugs. The hour markers and hands show darkened areas and surface irregularities. The strap displays creasing, surface cracking and wear around the adjustment holes, while the buckle shows superficial marks. The watch is listed as non-water-resistant.
